Blue Mountain Elite Mini Dress Signature August Valentine Drapery original couture

Process: This wearable art piece was constructed using a truly stunning vintage (1980) cashmere wide knit sweater. I deconstructed the sweater and re-purposed it making it into a corset for the bodice.

Sky blue silk for the dress lining, which is luxurious on your skin once your in the dress!  6 silver rivets into the back creating a Corset bodice. The bodice is boned and laces up the back with white braided silk cording through the silver rivets.

Hand beaded front top of the bustier with an assortment of my favorite beads from my personal vintage bead collection. A silver and aquamarine gem stone pendant hangs from silk cord in the center of the beads topping off the whole arrangement. This pendant catches the light in such an amazing way!

The skirting is a combination of vintage 1970’s stretch printed jersey with a magical flora, fauna, mountains and peaks print and more of that luxurious sky blue raw silk.
I draped multiple layers of skirting to create a dripping effect. As with so many of my signature pieces this piece features an asymmetrical skirt that comes up and around the legs. I finished the dress off with a brilliant blue silk belted waist, and more of the flora & fauna print for the shoulder straps. This dress is one of a kind, there will never be another, completely hand made.
